DIY 6 Disc CD Changer Stuck

Hey guys, just wondering if any of you fine people could help me with a problem I'm having. I have a 2003 Cooper (CVT) and the 6 CD changer seems to have stopped working, and got stuck. When I push the release button in the boot, there is a really faint noise from inside as if it is trying to come out. When I try and play a CD from the head unit, i get a "No Magazine" message.

It has worked fine in the past, but has just seized up recently. I tried to open it up to get inside this morning, but the screws are in such a place that its nigh on impossible to open the casing..any tips?

Appreciate the help.

it is good to get advice from the experts . Does that actually work or just make you feel better?

Afraid not mikey, i thumped for all i was worth this afternoon all to no avail.
I think I'm going to have to take it down to the BMW garage...although I'm sure its not a major problem.

Has anyone ever opened up one of these? Because if I could get inside I'm certain it would be easy.

This happened to mine last week - all I had to do to fix it was unscrew the mount holding the cd changer in place - unplug the cable - plug it in again and bingo - it started up?
Sometimes the best thing to do it turn something on and off to get it working again
