Question Heated Seat Switch Location - Retro Fit

I'm thinking of getting them retro'ed @£100 plus fitting for the kit.

Just wondered if anyone had a pic of where the switch lives?

There are two blanking plugs near the handbrake (either side) they go there

Let us know how much it is all in, my girlfriend liked the heated seats in the demo Cooper S we had and she's been on at me ever since to get them

the MINI has gone...

My heated seat controls are on the "wing mirror control plate". Just behind the gear shift knob, on either side of the mirror adjustor... But I have always wondered what the blanks are in the hand brake area?!?

I have the heated seats in my MCS. The switches are located behind the gear shifter. One on each side of the rear view mirrors control.

d'oh!

I think that may have been on early cars Maybe MiniGuy can clear this one up? You're right, the switches are now located next to the mirror controls.

the MINI has gone...

Switch Location

Guys, i think we are being a bit tetchy about the location of the switches, i do believe that Monsta is quite correct in what he says, the switches are indeed in the hand brake area, directly below the brake lever in my book is in the area.

Seriously though, yep, the switches are indeed on the wing mirror remote panel DIRECTLY BELOW THE HAND BRAKE!

Yes, the switches for the heated seats are located in the same position in my MCS; behind the gear shifter and on both sides of the rear view mirror control.

Good point! I was right all along!!

Anyway, there are two types of switches, ones which go on the switch panel and ones which fit next to the handbrake. I think as I said the handbrake ones are for earlier cars but maybe the dealer with use this for the retro fit rather than drilling the switch panel.

This is a guess but wasnt the Xenon adjuster originally in the wing mirrow adjuster panel and the heated seat switches were originally next to the butt button (flat tire monitor)? I guess when they made the xenons self leveling they moved the heated seats to the more accessable spot.

so how can we retro fit the heat seat?
what parts do we need?
we only need to add the switch? don't we need a different seat also?

jbramhall, they're from the MINI ETK (Parts catalogue) you can get them on ebay.

MiniE, I think you'd need to strip the seats and install the heater elements.

the MINI has gone...

So guys, how much would the switch and the heat element cost?
Is striping the seat a easy task?
