I have a pioneer cd unit fitted, and would like to change for new head unit, is the removal process the same as if removing the factory, or is there a shortcut?

When my bruv has done mine more than once he curses as it a lot of screw undoing, at lest i know its not easy to nick

Cant remember the exact order but gives you a rough idea

You have to undo & remove the pilars either side of stereo

Remove the stereo plate etc

I seem to remeber you have to undo the to screw on the dash by th speedo but that only bit i am not 100% off

Then once you have undo all the screws you should be able to remove the old one

Not sure about wiring etc as mine was already changed from standard when i bought

Hope that gives u a guide

Good luck

Much easier if an aftermarket stereo is fitted
Just insert the pioneer removal keys into the slots & pull it out, then unclip the cahe & replace with the new cage

It'll take five minutes as Mikey says.

Remove the plastic clip-on surround that frames the head unit, then insert removal keys (long thing bits of metal about half an inch wide) down the middle of the sides and pull out. Remove the head unit cage and you're ready for the next one. Make sure you keep the wiring adaptor for the new head unit.

I had mine out and back in in no time this weekend fitting a MFSW adaptor from Mikey
