Kenwood Head-Unit?

I currently have the MiniDisc and CD changer (with Boost) that I ordered with my Mini.

I would really love to fit my Kenwood Head unit I had in my old car. Is this possible? Searching the forums I keep seeing a lot about kits you can buy. I presume I need a fascia kit, do I need anything else?

Is it possible for me to also hook up my Kenwood CD changer? I've seen a few posts about Apline converters but is there one for Kenwoods, if one is needed?

Specification (if it helps):-

Kenwood MD Head Unit - KMD-PS971R
Kenwood 6 CD Changer - KDC-C715
Mini Cooper - September 2001 model

Thanks in advance
Chris

You can fit both your units no problem, you will have to install your kenwood cd lead as the mini lead is different, you will need facia adaptor, harness adaptor, aerial adaptor.
The harness adaptor will depend on which stereo was fitted at the factory (wave or boost) do you have the mfsw??

Mike,

Thanks for the info.

The Boost system came with my car.

What do I need to know about MFSW? Is this the steering wheel? My steering wheel cannot control the stereo (as far as I am aware! )

you will need the later flat pin bmw connector for boost wiring, if you have no luck locally I can send the parts next day.
