Somebody posted this pic on a Miata forum (of all places)

It's not to my taste, but some of you may like it.

Might look good on a tuned 's' or a racer lookalike,

I think it looks not to bad but I would have to see it in place before I was to buy it.

Does anyone like this stuff? It looks okay, but I thought the purpose of carbon fiber was to reduce weight and increase strength. These types of dash overlays are simply faux carbon fiber with adhesive backing that actually ADDS weight to the car.
I'm not trying to offend anyone, just submitting one perspective...

'03 "S" DS/DS. NAV, Sport, Cold & Premium packages. Love it!

can't say that I'm big on faux finishes, But then again it is plastic sprayed to look like aluminum in the first place. I am curious what the silver bits would look like if they were resprayed black? or the color of the exterior?

Check the Scratched silver trim? / The big laquering project! thread for bits about lacquering some of MINIs matt silver bits to match the rest of MINI's dash, and also a screenprint I did from the MINI Configurator showing Wood dash and Matt chrome dash too.

Thanks. I always overlooked this thread. I may have to do the same this weekend while I'm tinkering with the intake.

I wonder if the dashboard parts come off? anyone know if they're removable?

Yes, with a Torx (T20?) driver. Try a search on MINIGuy's posts - he's the MINI2 authority on taking MINIs apart.

Somewhat ironic as his real job is to put them together.
