HELP! CD Multichanger Installation - MINI Cooper Forum

Hi, I've got my 06 MCS today with single CD headunit and multichanger prep. I then took the multichanger out from my other 05 MC n plugged into my new car. All the wiring looked exactly the same to me but it didn't work. The headunit showed CD number and track number with no problem but it just didn't play. And the single CD failed too after the multichanger was plugged in. The 05 MC has cassette headunit instead of single cd so do i also need a cassette unit in my new car too to make the multichanger function? Any of you have the 6+1 system functioning and how did you install it? Thanks.
