51 Cooper boost head unit and speakers

Hello

I recently bought a 51 plate Cooper (with only 24000 miles on it !!!). Its mint condition, but the sound through the stereo is not great. It has the boost CD head unit, that was an option when it was new (I have the original receipts). Does anyone know if the iPod USB/audio cable is compatible with it ? Details of the cable say that it needs a S6FLA interface, and I cant find if it has this, its not in the manual.

Also, are there some better speakers that can go in the standard mountings that people would recommend ?

Thanks

Dave

If the sound isn't great, an iPod will sound nothing if not worse.

I appreciate that an iPod with its compressed music wont sound any better, but it cant sound much worse !!!! Are the later model Mini speakers better quality than the 51 Cooper that I have ?

No, if you've got boost it's as good as that system gets. There are upgrade options, aftermarket is usually cheaper and better quality/flexibility.
