Mini one radio instruction booklet hi everyone, before i contact my main dealer i thought i would ask on here.. if you look at the first two pictures in the following link 2008 Mini Cooper Business CD Head Unit fitting in an E36? - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum 2 images of 2 different radios. can i ask what is the difference? as my mini one 06 has the radio in the second image down BUT the manual supplied with the car is for the one above it? is there a manual for my radio or do i have to go with the manual given with me? very confused.. my friends 04 cooper has the radio in the first image. but am i ment to have my own manual for my radio as i will contact my dealer and get it off them, if someone could tell me this and also briefly explain what the differences are? regards alex

Have a look here and read this... NewMINIStuff.com FAQ (I can't see the photos as Bimmerforums is blocked here at the office).

Here are a few more that will confuse you even more. ![]() There are two types of Boost CD players. The difference is in the knobs... One has a skinny pointed volume knob and the other is a flat one. The skinny one is made by Alpine. The flat one is made by Siemens VDO and has the ability to extract TMC. Since you have an 06, your should be able to play MP3... Older (02 - 04) boost radios could not play MP3. The newer (late 04 - 06) can play MP3.

thanks, yes mine plays data disks (mp3 tracks) thank god. did you manage to have a look at the pictures by any chance? as im confused about my manual as i have the wrong one and i was wondering if anyone does have the correct manual so i can ring up my dealer and get this sorted. regards alex

OK, you have the Siemens VDO radio and your friend has the Alpine. All of the MINI radios have the same user functions so one manual fits all really. To be honest, the MINI book is useless... Best just to play around. The only difference between the Siemens and the Alpine is the Siemens can receive TMC... I believe that this this the only manual for the radio out there. Is it the same as yours?

yes, i have the hard copy of this http://www.motoringfile.com/files/MINI_Radio_Manual.pdf which is the only download i could find.. if you can see the radio shown in this manual is the older one which my car hasn't got ![]() yeah reading over it now the functions look quite the same, i will still ring up my dealer and question them as im that kinda person who makes these little things big ![]() thanks for your help.
