Computer Button

First off, "Hi!" from Texas. These forums have already been invaluable in finding and eliminating a couple of rattles. Second, I'm perhaps being a little dense, but I need a bit of help figuring something out and I haven't been able to find an answer in my searching of the forums.

I just picked up a 2005 MCS and am loving it. A friend of mine had a 2005 MCS a while back and when he pressed the computer button it would cycle through MPG, estimated range, speed, temp, etc.

When I press the computer button it will only toggle between temperature and speed. Am I just doing something wrong? Why would I have the computer button if I don't have the OBC? The owner's manual was a little bit vague on this to me.

If I, in fact, don't have the OBC, then from what I've read from the PDFs on installing it, it seems like it's just a matter of wiring and updating the ECU since I already have the stalk with the computer button and the xenon headlights (which means I have the temp sensor). Does that sound about correct?

I'd like to know aswell. I have the button, Outside temp and and tacho. But only showing MPH and Temp.

Eric, you do not have the OBC which is why it is not showing up. If the OBC is installed, it will have to be coded with the BC1 (not the ECU) to show the information. This will require a trip to the dealer.

you wont have the optional extra to show mpg n so on, hence why it wont show
