odometer displaying miles per hr... can it display km/h?

its quite annoying, im in malta here and whenever a speed camera is coming up i have to look towards the centre speedometer to stay within the legal speed. any idea how to make the odometer display in km? thanks in advance for any replies.

To be able to answer your question we would need to know what car you have - age and model.

well of course, how stupid of me! its an r53 cooper s, 2003 build. thanks!

On the R53 you have to have BMW / MINI change the coding of the car to display KPH on teh OBC on the Tacho.

It is only a 20 second coding job once the dealer's computer is connected up and all systems checked for function. Should be a 15 minute charge.

This will also change the miles traveled and the whole fuel consumption, ave speed etc to metric

I live in Holland, and the central speedometer on my LHD R53 is only marked in km/h. Similarly the digital display only reads in km/h. That's fine here, but I often travel to the UK, and it's a bit frustrating that the digital readout cannot be easily set to read mph. I don't want to reset the entire OBC to work in miles, just the speed display.
