Retro fit factory alarm

Has anyone had it done and what did it cost? For the full kit, with the flashing light on the indicator/wiper stalk, all fitted?

Mine hasn't got one, and at the minute its not a problem as it doesn't get left parked and lives in the garage, but things may change, meaning it needs to be left parked during the day. As a result I'm considering the alarm. I've seen the parts are going for about £150, but I'm not sure how much it costs to fit. Insurance say it'll make £0 difference to my premium, but I'd rather have a bit of peace of mind so to speak knowing my car is a bit better protected!

The alarm is a dealer install item not factory. So yes, it can be done. I have it and I think that I paid about 400 USD for it.

Many aftermarket alarm systems are available out there that works like the Mini factory fit alarm. Here are some of the sites you can check out, purchase online, and fit into your Mini:

Costs may vary from one brand to another. I would suggest you check out Viper first as this is a very reputable alarm company. I had trouble posting URLs here. Try searching it up on Google instead. Fitting can be done outside the factory. Most car repair shops can do it.
