Seat belt warning light........

(2003 Cooper S)........does'nt come on when I take off my belt whilst driving, however when I start up the car the light comes on when the system does the check??

Any ideas...Im not too fussed about the f

ok put the passenger seat belt into the connection and see if the function worls during startup

Just tried that.......driver and passenger in start up.....driver in passenger out start up........driver out passenger in start up......

In all cases the light comes on for about 2-3 secs then goes out? Is the light just a reminder...is there an alarm after the light????

the light is just confirming that the circuit is fuctioning
