Why poor quality?

I have bought some 6x9's (Kenwood) and a Pioneer amp , 2 x 150w , although the speakers are loud the sound quality is very poor and the max out quite early , if any1 could tell me as to why this is happening or hoew to fix it , it would be most helpful.

Cheers,
Paul

are the gain settings ok? To set these, have your headunit at 75% and increase the gain until distortion, then turn it down slightly.

What headunit are you using, how is it connected to the amp?

That might help, depending on what your problem is... who installed it?

Sorry to say, but the answer as to why is in your own post.

@CurtP... He is partially right... check all your connections. if that doesnt work (or even if it does) than follow Doms advice, your gain shouldn't be over half way on any higher end amp. If all else fails resort to the voltometer, you should still have an instruction manual that came with your amp, it should have output levels for all the poles on the amp. confirm that they are all at appropriate levels (I have hade many faulty amps that caused similar problems). if so then it is time to take it to the people you had instal it and give them a swift boot to the head!
