Question Broken Height Adjust Mechanism - HELP!

Can anyone assist me please with a nudge inthe right direction please?

The height adjuster mechanism on my drivers seat in my 2004 Cooper S JCW has broken. The internals have decided to "explode" and the steel ring that is part of the ratchet system had split and the seat is too heigh (after wifey drove it). I need it right down to be able to drive it properly.

I've enquired with BMW about a replacement base and it's just shy of £300 for the base and then there's the replacement costs on top.

Does anyone know of a good MINI breaker so I can find a scrap seat, or does anyone know of a seat going?? It's the standard cooper S sports seat with the blue trim (not really a problem as I could re-cover it with my trim if necessary).

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's most uncomfortable to drive at the moment. Or even if there may be a way to get the seat into its lowest position would be a start. The lever now doesnt' do anything except flap about!

Cheers

Nic

Problem solved!!!

Managed to pick up a full half leather interior for the car (as mine cloth) off e-bay for a total steal of a price (including 2 door cars that I'll probably not use so they'll end up on here with the rest of my interior) !!!! In the same colour too so I'm EXTREMELY happy he he.

Now I'll put my seats up for sale (with the broken height adjuster) to see if I can get some pennies back!
