I am just in the process of changing my rear speakers for some Alpine 6x9 speakers. I have removed all the rear seats and was wondering how the speakers are attached? Are they actually attached to the plastic panels or the body its self?

All's it is, i am thinking of striping the back and leaving it as it is for the time being and if the speakers sit in the body work that would be spot on.

Also, I have checked the FAQ for removing these panels but cannot find anything and was wondering if I was looking in the wrong place?

The OEM 6x9's screw into the body metal work. You may need to enlarge the hole very slightly with a metal file. Put some sound deadening behind the speaker while you have the old ones out.
