Stereo/wiring fault

Hi all, first post..

I have 2002 cooper with a stereo that cuts out when i go over bumps, sometimes completely, sometimes it crackles in and out of sound and now it pops and crackles even when the stereo is switched off! This happens on both radio and cd. It is a head unit with 6cd changer.

Is this loose wiring? Any ideas would be much appreciated..

Jamie
