OBC retrofit

I know this has been talked about before,but does anyone have a parts list and a how to on doing the job.I know zooom was talking about doing a how to but i never heard back from him. Also has anyone in usa succesfully done this task.

Wish I hadn't ordered the OBC on my 'S' ... it's inaccurate, overstating the range and MPG [by almost 15%]

Sorry to hear that. It seems like a simple software fix could remedy those problems and improve accuracy, doesn't it?

Last time I checked with the service manager, he said they had no fix. I may request it be replaced the next time I take it in for service.

Other MINI2 members have reported inaccurate OBCs also.

i posted the MINI part number for the OBC Retrofit Kit a few weeks back. Try doing a search or ask your dealer the part number is inside the tech parts program at the dealer.

You sure the OBC is inaccurate and not the speedometer? There were threads pointing out BMW intentionally (and through german law) made the speedo a few miles too fast, to prevent it from ever underestimating speed. The OBC doesn't have these problems, so I'll get average speed a few mph lower then the speedo if I have cruise set or something.

I haven't checked out the odometer, but I doubt it could be far enough off to account for the 4 - 5 MPG difference between the OBC and manual calculations.
