How to Replace Internal Rear View Mirror - MINI Cooper Forum

I've got a hopefully smiple problem to solve. I have a mini convertible 04 which has had the internal rear view mirror knocked off of it's mounting. It looks like I should just be able to force it back on but I can't get it to go. Is this the correct thing to be doing? If so, how can I get the mirror off of the neck as I think this may help me get more leverage to force it back on? If not - then how?

Hi the mirror needs to be initially on the base off-centre at a 45 degree angle (approximately) then twist the neck of the mirror into the normal position! I know this sounds complicated but is relatively simple.
