2002 mini one

Hello newbie here
My wife has just got a 2002 mini one it came with a tape head unit, I have just purchased a cd unit from ebay out of a 53 plate will i need an adaptor to connect it I have seen some from newministuff but they are about £36 so this dont make the cd unit i purchased that cheep, is there anywhere else that do this converter?

By the way I am new on here and to the mini ownership

no mate should be a straight swop if both stereos are from early minis dont think they changed the stereo leads untill 04 reg

Just removed old unit and it is round pins but new cd unit is flat pins

I was actually about to post a similar thread. Looks like you purchased a CD unit from MINI 2004 (July onwards, I think) or later.

Is it even possible to swap a pre-facelift radio with an after-facelift one? The former uses a round PIN connector and the latter a flat one - is there some kind of adaptor available on the market?

Do these two units even have the same size and mounting points?

Any help much appreciated
