Where can I buy an Aux In Kit?

Hi,

Just bought a 2003 Cooper with basic stereo (wave?). I want to be able to connect my IPhone to play music as an Aux In. Saw that you can get a kit to fit which places an aux in socket in the panel under the toggle switches. This sounds perfect and I might add a further 12v socket there if it will fit as I'm struggling with just one!!

Question is..... Where can I buy the kit from in the UK? Looked on the MINI website and couldn't find it? Are they available through the dealer or anywhere else?

Thanks

Lloyd

The part number for the Auxiliary Connector Kit is 65120308752. You can compare dealer pricing with pricing from here.

This kit is for vehicles with Boost Radio only.

Thanks Caveman,

Sorry to be thick. Looked at the link you posted and I can see this is for Boost stereos only. Is the dealer part also just for Boost? (Ie am I kn*ckered if I want to do this to a Wave stereo?)

I'd just buy a new head unit but the car has a MINI 6cd changer in the boot and not sure if an aftermarket unit will hook up to that. ICE ain't my strong point!

I don't think the Wave Radio has a place in the rear to plug in the aux connector.

Sorry but I can't help with your question regarding an aftermarket headunit and CD changer.

Ok, I'll perhaps keep a lookout for a second hand Boost unit as I'd like to keep it original. Thanks for the advice on this and other questions.

Make sure it's a Boost Radio from a MINI built September 2002 or later.

Thanks Caveman, thinks I've found one. What's the difference between earlier and later models? Looks like the units a fiver so may be worth a punt anyway.

Boost Radio from early models didn't have an aux socket in the rear.
