LED Interior Bulbs

Just replaced all the interior bulbs on my R53 Works with a complete kit of LEDS supplied by a very nice chap who already sells R56 bulb kits on ebay.

He is UK based and very helpful if you have questions or problems relating to installing LEDs in your MINI.

He isn't trying to compete with some of the mainstream suppliers but is able to offer complete kits with fitting instructions and tips for very reasonable cost.

If anyone is interested his ebay seller id is: celticbhoy180874

Hi,

Was looking at this for my R50. Did you manage to change all your interior lights with that kit? Wasn't too sure as it says R56 so thought some of the lights may be a different type.

Cheers

LEDs for 1st Generation MINI

He is in the process of developing the kit for 1st generation MINI and supplied me on the basis of it being a trial/prototype version.

What he is currently offering on ebay is for the R56 and so wouldn't be suitable for your MINI.

I have changed the following interior lights on my R53:

Glove box, footwells, centre roof light, centre map reading lights, sunvisor mirror lights plus the boot light. All our working fine with no problems.

He can also supply suitable exterior front side lights and rear number plate lights.

Problem with LED's flashing on rear number plate!

Didn't bother with before & after photos as these have been published many times before by others. I went for cool white bulbs rather than more blue colored.

I have discovered an interesting problem with the rear number plate lights. They operate perfectly normally, but they flash (when the lights are turned off) but the interior light are on. So whenever I unlock the car or open a door and the interior lights come on, the rear number plate lights start flashing until the interior lights turns off.

We have tried swapping the number plate LED's for bulbs with different value resistors but can't stop them behaving like this.
