retro rev counter help

I`ve just got a mini one with a retro fitted rev counter. The ASR,seatbelt and the cruise control lights are constantly on Also the outside temp gauge is not working. Could this be because it has not been coded or that is has been badly fitted. The rev counter does work.
Thanks for any help.
