All done!

Replaced the 6x9 coaxial speakers in the back with 6.5" components. Sounds incredibly better.

Pictures of the install can be found here:

It's an 8" Eclipse subwoofer. Eclipse is made by Fujitsu Ten.

How do you like it? Good sound quality? Add some good punch? How much power are you giving it?

I can't decide what to do for subs.... but a small sealed sub in the boot is one of my options.

Sounds very nice and provides more than enough punch. I'm not providing much power to it at all. Maybe 1/8 of a turn.

I think I could've gotten away with a 4" back there. Your preference may be different in terms of how much bass you like to hear.

The thing that really made the difference was putting the 6.5" components in the back. Really fills the car nicely.

Need help with dimensions

Bill - did you have someone custom make the false floor and sub box for you? I have my 04 MCS and just replaced the speakers, HU, and added a Phoneix Gold R 5.0:4 200W amp and the only place I can put it is in the trunk......

I'd like to build a false floor.......but looking at your seup I might even be able to cram another amp under the floor, setup a sub box.....

Any info on the dimensions of your setup would be really appreciated. Also, did you build the boxes yourselves or did you have them done professionally?

Thanks.
