Storage behind rear lights

Has anyone used the area behind the rear light access cover as a storage area?

I have just bought a spare bulb kit and it would fit quite nicely in there, but wasn't sure if it needed to be kept clear for any reason.

I guess as long as what ever you put behind there doesnt cause the cavity to draw moisture and sweat its ok to just store your spare bulbs there.

That's what I thought.
I was going to put a bit of packing around them to prevent rattling and just use self adhesive Velcro pads so should be okay.

I used to have an Astra that had its First Aid kit stored behind there.

It's a fair sized space, so seems a shame to waste it.
