Pure Silver iPhone Lightning cable/ R53 Cooper S

Seen various topics on this but none that really answer this specific question;

Can the old style iPhone cable on an R53 Cooper S be replaced with a Lightning cable? if so; any links on a replacement?

The current cable comes out of the glovebox directly from the back of the headunit

I dont know what connection is on the other end? whether its USB or other. wanted some more info from you guys before I get involved with the hammer

The current cable looks like an official Apple cable (its white at least) and doesnt look thrid party

Haven't gone directly to Mini as in my experience they dont know ****.
