I remember all the threads going around a while back, but has anyone heard if the dealers have finally gotten the AUX input jacks? If so, any idea on the cost of this?
Latest word from MINI USA is that they are supposed to be released sometime this month so I am crossing my fingers. I mean honestly I can't imagine what's taking so long to design an adapter plug
If you get tired of waiting, do what the 2002 owners do, get a Blitzsafe. Just had one put in tonight, works great!

Yeah I know of that option but I don't really want to have the RCA cables running all the way up to the front of the car. So my other option was to cut the CD Changer plug from the back off of the harness, hook it back up right behind the radio, and put the blitzsafe there right behind the radio. But I have to wait a bit anyways before getting my MP3 player so I figured I'd wait until I actually get the MP3 player before buying the blitzsafe if the MINI one doesn't come around.
The cabling is neat, runs under the seat and under the door trim so the only bit you see is a little length under the console so I can hook up my Nomad Jukebox behind the cupholders. But if you can get a neater solution, go for it.
As an added bonus, you might get a bigger harddrive, or the same for less $$$ by waiting to buy your player. I got my MP3 player a year ago and now it _only_ has 6MB, top of the line at the time. Today I'd get 10 or 20 for the same price...

I use the Monster iPod cable (for my iPod, but that's sorta irrelevant) with my Blitzsafe, seriously, people all the time have no idea where the cable is plugged into, because it comes up between the front seats after being wedged under the front of the rear seats. The cable itself is a braided black mesh, so it matches perfectly with the black carpet. The only issue: its not long enough to go around the door, but the iPod fits quite well under the handbrake, which it is the perfect length for.
For something I don't think about anymore, everyone who sits in the car finds it really slick.
But it would be interesting to actually get some news on this vaporware.
