is there a shelf behind the back seats and the back window? or is it just a drop into the boot? the reason i'm asking is i have something that i need to put on the back shelf of the car, but since i dont have it yet, i cant remember if the cooper has a shelf. Does it have one?
excellent, as long as it has one. . my pug 106 has one obviously and its a bit dodgy, but i thought the gap behind the seat and window might have been too small, but its cool.

It does have a shelf. It's very small (actually kind of cute in so far as a parcel shelf can be cute).
One word of warning, though. The MINI parcel shelf can't hold any nodding dogs. In fact, putting a nodding dog in the back of a MINI will void your warranty and cause poor engine performance. Just promise me that the item you're planning to put on the shelf isn't a nodding dog, will you?
no its not a nodding dog. haha, it is something quite different. its prolly gonna look stupid but its to help my business. once i get it sorted i'll post a pic of somesort so ya'll can see
Just be careful with parcel shelves, ours has the warning triangle fixed beneath it and after about six months the weight of the triangle pulls the shelf down to an extent that it fowls the rear wiper motor and springs the boot open when you try to shut it.
Repaired at dealers, they bent it clear, I would of done that but more than likely broke it!
