Alpine cda-7998

A couple of questions for you
Is anyone using this head unit( Alpine cda-7998) in their Mini? Is it a good fit? Can you post a pic?

Thanks

I have just fitted one in my 'S' and it fits fine as long as you use the hole adapter for the MINI.
This is required for all after market head units to make them a snug fit in the hole provided by MINI.
You can get it from most car audio outlets or in the UK from Halfords.
You will need an Amp though, as the head unit has no internal amplification, so I fitted a five channel Alpine + sub + 5.25 components in the front doors.
It sounds great but you do need to set up the 7998 correctly to get the most out of it, and there are a lot of variables to consider on this unit.

Thanks Burnie,

That was just the information I was looking for. I can not wait to get it installed. It will be open top season soon & I need to hear my tunes.

Peace Out
