I Used existing panel screw hole {with a longer 1" screw} to hold F-X Spring Clip in place.
The Toolkit sorts of holds it in place & stops it rattling.

Just hope any fire Dont start in the Boot & burn through the release mechanism.

...Whats the Odds on That

Hmmmmmm

Behind the driver, in the pocket compartment next to the back left passenger seat. Sits fine, doesn't move or rattle noises. I also have a bottle of water in the same compartment. In the boot, where the MCS jack is, I stuck a Mag Light under it, it's secured with the weight of the jack.

Can I direct you to the following:-
http://new.minispares.com/Fitting_Guides.cfm

Sorry, I should have also added that the same information is available on this site. At the top of the page under Technical, OEM fitting guides

If you are using the car for competition wouldn't it be best to install the fire extinguisher lying on its side just in front of the passenger seat. For easy reach.

The unit that restyle has in his car looks to be a 1 or 2 lbs unit, good for putting out a cigarette. You may or should be using no less than 5lbs unit.

In competition it needs to be within reach. Pretty much useless otherwise. Just like the warning triangle which is nice in the trunk but must be in the passenger compartment within reach while competing. The fire extinguisher must be mounted while the warning triangle need not be.

Honestly, an extinguisher in the boot is only good for helping out other people. If your car is on fire then the wires may very soon burn out which means you won't be able to open the trunk/boot anyways. Cars go up fast once you notice they are on fire so if you are out of the car you will probably want to stay far away, call the fire department and then your insurance company.

Thanks for all of the input - i didn't even know that an extinguisher was OEM!

harry - am I misreading the rally guidlines? I kind of though that they called for an extinguisher.

I agree that the trunk is a useless location and - with the exception of rear ended Piontos - if really bad stuff happens it's liable to be near the front. Also having witnessed a car fire i agree there is no way to get close enough to do any good - the heat is awesome
