Infinity Basslink X sub

[Bonjour]

All things being well I'm picking up my Cooper next week. I'm planning on taking it straight round to a car stereo place and getting one of the Infinity active subs fitted in the boot. I also plan to replace the rear speakers with a pair of Infinity Kappa 693.5i 6x9's.

Does anyone have any experience of the Infinity Basslink X, or does anyone have any alternatives that they believe I should be considering?

Bonjour - if you do a search on the basslink it's been well discussed. Only know of one person who has fitted one - he said it put out some good sound however he fried the BOOST head unit using the speaker level inputs and so replaced the head unit with an aftermarket one and hooked it up through the line out rca connections.

With the help of some great people on this site, I recently installed a Kenwood KSC-WA62RC enclosed powered subwoofer into the boot of my Cooper S. The install was easy once I learned how to take out the HU and which collored wires from the wiring harness controlled each speaker and which was the accessory wire. I decided to splice with bullet connectors to the wiring harness behind the HU so I wouldn't run into having to remove any panels and possibly breaking door clips in the process. By adjusting the fad on by Boost unit the system sounds great and the sub fits absolutely perfect on the left side of the boot still allowing for the plug and play CD changer on the right. It also takes up very little space and provides plenty of power for the size car of the car. Good luck!
