Thats ace, tall bloke. I'm thinking of doing the same but with a JVC headunit which has an AUX in on the front.
How is the ipod held? Is it one of those mobile phone holder things? Also, do you know of anyway to power the ipod, maybe through the cigarette socket? As the battery life on my ipod can be a little unpredictable at times!

The ipod is held with a simple £2.50 car phone holder from Halfords.

You can buy an in car charger which plugs into the cigarette lighter (think there is a car kit called Dr Bott). They are on the apple website.

I also considered the jvc with the black face. The only reason i didn't get it was because of the finish of the face plate (being metal it didn't have a smooth finish). Picky, i know!

Cheers
Chris

I have my iPod hooked to a standard MINI '03 head unit with a self-installed Aux cable. It sits in a "Hot Pocket" between the two dash legs. I ran the cable down and cut a slit in the top of the pocket so it is not very noticeable.

Chargers are available from a variety of sources. Check out www.ipodlounge.com.

Regards,

Dave

Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back?

The HU with fascia, wires and installation was £400.

Ipod £330. Although i belive these prices have decreased due to the new model.

I'm probably being a bitof a div here, but how did you connect to the stereo and can it be done with the standard H/K stereo?

The Becker, like many aftermarket HU's, uses the cd changer port on the back of the cd player and a new connection lead to enable the AUX feature.

The 2003 MINI HU's are supposed to be AUX ready, but their adapter lead is not yet ready.

Cheers
