Mini Cooper Sound system advice?

Hi all, I have ordered a EB/White cooper S to be delivered in Jul/Aug. Seeing all your guys comments and meetings made me very looking forward for the car. One thing i concern about my coming mini is the sound system as i think i will change the original one. Any of you did that? and if so, any good suggestion for this mini babe considering its size?

It's worth to spend $5,0000 to upgrade the original stereo to Harmon Kardon system. Since it's not too expensive and after listened it in JC380's MCS, go for it.

I think Derrick meant 5k instead of 50k. But he's definitely rite about the HK system. Its great!

Go to the new showroom in "Ma Tau Wai" to see if they have a HK equiped mini for demo. But i dont think you'll regret if you ordered the HK in your MCS!

Sorry, I made a typing mistake. It should be 5,000 as told by JC380. On the other hand, I just come back from Mini new showroom in Matauwai, there is a new option called "mini sound module" offered by the dealer, I've listened to it and it costs $8,xxx, which is more expensive than the HK system. It is still better than the original one but hard to compare with HK one. You should go down to have a look asap.

I don't know if the system is worth 8K, you can do alot as all the do is upgraded speakers - small sub woofer(don't remember the location) and an small amp that fit it in the right panel of the trunk.

I've check other aftermarket system - anywhere 3-4K for amp and speakers with vast improvements.

Anyone know the MSFW adaptor is ready for order right now or not? Any chance that could it be bought in Hong Kong?
Or have anyone already made an order or installation?

BTW I heard that the original MINI headunit is Alpine. Is this ture? I like the appearance of the new Sony Headunit
CDX-M1000TF. Is Sony's sound quality good? What is general sound quality difference among Sony, Alpine and HK?
