| Aux Adapter Question-Glovebox install Could someone please explain how the jack in the glovebox will work? Am I going to have to drive around with the glovebox door open and the cable hanging out with my IPOD attached? That doesn't make sense to me so I'm sure I just don't fully understand the install on this. Thanks. |

| I was told that the output is supposed to be in the glovebox. the gap between the door of the glovebox is large enough to let the cable through and it can be guided down the rear column to the cubby hole. "Sprocket" |

| Installed the factory Aux input, however.....Instead of mounting it in the glove box, I installed it in one of the open toggle switch areas. Works, great and I will post pictures of the finished project soon. |

| Guys, it appears that there is a "back-order" on these. At least that is what I was told. However, when I called Classic BMW in Richardson TX (via the above reference), they were cool enough to search their db and found that MINI of Long Beach has 28!!! Well, make that 27 now ![]() It appears that the dealerships get these on a first come basis... Well, if interested, here is their contact info: 562.427.5494 (phone) - ask for parts, Craig 562.595.8547 (fax) - copy of cc and driver's lic Again, the part # is: 82-11-0-153-367. 45 bucks to my door, and they shipped within an hour of my fax! I now have about a day or two to ponder where I will mount the jack... Hope that helps some of you! '03 (9.6.02) MCS IB/W Lapis Blue Leather Mission = 10:1 (Weight:HP) |

| THIS thread details my installations of the Aux port. I combined it with the Euro Parcel shelf instead of the glovebox mounting. Anyone with NAV who plans on doing the installation should look over this thread since the factory instruction sheets do not adress those cars with NAV installed. Everything worked fine though, and I am happy with the installation. Lots of pics and details! '03 MCS, Dk Silver, 17" wheels NAV, DSC, Premium #1 and #3, Rally lights, etc, etc. Fulton, MD. | Greatbear - thank you! While I read it at work today, I just bookmarked it again as I have a couple questions that might he answered in it. However, I will ask you here as I don't recall if you addressed those in your instructions - most likely because they are not directly relevant... 1. Where did you get the cool parcel shelf??? 2. Did, or do you plan to hardwire power into that area? 3. If so, how did you, or plan on doing so? Very cool. Thanks for the paving the way and, for sharing! | Found it !! They didn't need the part number but did have to contact some BMW central technical support people to help them - aparently NO-ONE has enquired about this part yet so it did take some time to sort it out (doesn't anyone read the MINI2 forum )The complete Kit costs 'about' €50 (£35 / US$58) but they want to add up to €300 to that price if they have to fit it themselves - potentially 3 hours as they don't know what they are doing. I need to check whether I can fit it myself within the restrictions of it being a lease car - can't see a problem though, it doesn't harm anyone (At least I would have the instructions from MINI2 to follow). In summary, get the dealer to look again for the part not just the part number - my dealer took two hours to get it clarified. David 2003 Mini Cooper S - DS/B |

| These are all the parts with part numbers needed for the shelf installation: 51-16-1-186-417 shelf 51-16-7-057-375 shelf mat 51-45-7-072-009 blind plate 07-13-1-472-727 nut (2 needed) 51-41-0-141-057 screw (2 needed) 07-13-6-800-957 screw (2 needed) I am un the US and bought all these items from Classic MINI. You can find their 'official announcement' with part numberss and prices (US$) HERE As for my power mod, I havent done that yet. My plan is to use an off-the-shelf lighter socket with cap connected to an always-on power source (unlike the key-on-only source in the MINI lighter plug) mounted in the back of the shelf. If all goes well and I have the time, I will do this on the weekend if not sooner. Hope this helps! '03 MCS, Dk Silver, 17" wheels NAV, DSC, Premium #1 and #3, Rally lights, etc, etc. Fulton, MD.
