MFSW adaptors - a guide to whats available. NEW-Blaupunkt

Hi all,

Bit of advice please if anyone can help...
Got an Alpine 9803R in my mini with the relevant alpine adapter to connect to iso and the adapter for the mfsw controls. When I put my headlights or sidelights on the radio doesn't light up (when it's switched off).
The stock Boost unit in my gf's cooper does and previous units in other cars I've had do, now I can't find my power button in the dark..? Is there a simple wire swap..?

Hi Nige, the harness adaptor with the alpine mfsw adaptor carries a sidelight feed. Make sure the dash lights are set to full brightness as some stereos won't sense them if they are turned down. Other than that it could be that the alpine hasn't got that feature.

Hi Mikey I tried to have someone contact me but no one has gotten back to me - i would love to get a mfsw adapter and mounting kit (if necessary) for my alpine 9807 head unit...

i thought the R just means it's a uk model instead of us model --- do the US ones not work with any mfsw adapter?

No they do not have the socket
The universal or SWIX as its known in USA is the only answer I can think of

I am picking up my MINI tomorrow. it has a NAV system but NOT the HK,

I'm thinking of the Pioneer DVH-5000MP head unit with a hidden switch to use the NAV screen for DVD.

I've no idea whether the stock head unit is boost or wave. Hence, I'm totally confused about how or IF i can use this Pioneer head unit with the MFSW controls.

Can someone advise me on this? Searches yield pages of stuff to wade through so I apologize if this has been covered before.
if this HU won't work, can someone suggest a similar HU that DOESn"T have it's own built-in LCD? I'd really like to use the NAV screen instead because installation and design are much smoother in appearance.

Kurster, standard is a boost, I do not have an adaptor for the 5000 at the moment

Do the 2004 Coopers still use the White/Red/Yellow wire for MFSW signals? I couldn't find that color wire in the wire bundle to the left of my steering wheel column.

Looking for info on whether an adapter is available (or needed) to connect a MFSW currently controling a boost system to a Blaupunkt Woodstock system?

No blaupunkt adaptors in my list yet, but have JUST received a new range of prototypes for testing & it includes Blaupunkt - watch this space
