UNIVERSAL SWIX
Works with most makes of stereos providing you have an IR remote for them (except hi band Sonys). Programable & can be reprogrammed if you change your stereo.
Has an IR LED which requires mounting and also needs a wire chopping under steering column. See Authorized dealer info for compatibility list.

PHONE HANDS FREE KITS
We now have adaptors to link hands free kits to the new MFSW with phone buttons & in some cases stereo & nav display.

Bluetooth interface; 2 versions available Wave or Boost. This links the Parrot evo bluetooth kit to the wheel & stereo. There is no need to mount the parrot controller as the 2 wheel buttons replace it. Functions; Answer/end call from the wheel, activate voice dial from wheel, call is played through car speakers. This interface is plug & play.

Cradle type hands free kit interface; Available for Boost. Ths links various cradle type hands free kits to the wheel, stereo & even sat nav. Using all the buttons on the wheel functions available; answer/end call, scroll through phone book, select & call, volume. The phone book/caller ID are displayed on the stereo and if fitted - sat nav screen, the call is played through the stereo. The interface is plug & play.

Thanks for posting a comprehensive list. I might have to get a new HU now, since the P4020 I have at the moment doesn't seem to have a remote jack.

Mikey, what do you mean by steering remote ready for the Alpine units? Does that mean any Alpine that has an IR remote?

Just curious as I didn't think Alpine had a port for hard-wired connections.

minhi, some alpines do have a hard wire socket, my adaptor requires this. The list above is the UK 2002/3 models that have it. I am going to get a list of USA models that have it also.

If it is a 7998R it should be fine. I just tried to check the spec on Alpine North America site, but its down.
