| Latest Software Update For Factory Navigation Dear All, For those who have read my posts before you are probably aware of my interest in the factory nav system and trying to provide fellow mini2-ers with the latest firmware and maps.... and it seems quite often before the dealers! Well here we go again, I now have ISO's of firmware update V21-1 which will update CDROM nav systems to 3-1/62 The major change to this firmware is the Auto-zoom feature. Some of you may already be aware that the Nav system is unable to accuratley keep up when zoomed in at 125 yards (max zoom) and quite often gets very confused. With the new version the system automatically zooms out when you are at max zoom and start speeding up, thus providing an accurate reading on the screen. I have just installed this, although I must admit with some major heart failures as it failed the first couple of times and I thought i had screwed the nav system, but hey - persistance paid off and it all works fine now. I havent tried the feature yet as its late and the missus wouldnt be happy with me shooting out at 11pm! But I am not under the thumb...honest! And the cherry on the cake is that I also have an ISO of the latest UK map disk, V2003-3 with TMC codes. NOTE: this will not activate TMC on your mini it just contains the codes so that TMC will work whenever BMW decide to allow dealers to switch it on - sometime in August apparently! Postcode searching is active on this version also. So.... (god this post is long) - I need someone to host the images (total 650mb) as my server took a big hammering last time and I wont get away with it again with my ISP. One last thing I have the latest BMW ETK too (V2003-4) if anyone wants to host that also. No PM's for private copies please - the information is for everyone, just need someone to host it Cheers Woodman PS. Simon Jackson.... I expect a reply on this first thing!!!! | The navigation disks are in a special format read by the nav drive but the ETK, TIS, EBA are all windows utilities for part numbers and service and technical information W MCS EB/W TV Tuner with picture in motion and PS2 installed under passenger seat! 4 spot lamps on front in arc, 222BHP AMD conversion and Scorpion exhaust http://www.wood-man.demon.co.uk/mini/signature.jpg |

| So is this not for the DVD based nav system? or will it work? i heard that the major difference with the dvd version was the speed, will it slow down if i use this CD in it?thanks, Dec |
| ||||
| NO! BMW produce one software CD for all systems and the unit (whether cd or dvd) decides which version it needs. I just dont know if this latest disk includes any updates for the DVD system, if it doesnt your system will just spit it back out Jeremyp is going to host the nav stuff for a while which i will upload to him tonight when i get home W MCS EB/W TV Tuner with picture in motion and PS2 installed under passenger seat! 4 spot lamps on front in arc, 222BHP AMD conversion and Scorpion exhaust http://www.wood-man.demon.co.uk/mini/signature.jpg |
