This could be quite tough, the whole dash is delivered per built for each car, and just slots in, its built as a complete unit before being delivered to the line.
So to get it apart you really have to take the whole thing out, and then start removing bits from there. However, if your car has the shelf arrangement instead of the little cubby hole, and the glove box, things are not as bad. You should be able to find a way up and under this way. Thats why its hard for dealers to fix facia rattles.

Iv'e a post here on one of the Ipaq / nav threads that says if you remove the 2 panels at the end of the dash there's 2 screws at each side and that's all that holds the top of the dashboard.

There's also an OEM fitting guide on here for a trafficpro nav system I think and it shows the top of the dash removed for GPS receiver intall.

I have ipaq and tomtom 2, my GPS receiver is just sat on the dash top. I might get round to opening the dash top and putting it in there one day.

Just pop the dash end cover off, you can push your gps aerial in there, it works fine

Open passenger door, use flat screwdriver in middle of back end of panel, ease out. You can then get your hand in and push the aerial up to top of dash (put some double sided sticky on it first.
