official mini pda nav available to buy in uk!

just been in Henry Bros BMW in glasgow checking up on the status of my new Cooper S and buying the AUX connector for my ipod....and the nice bloke in parts let me look about on the parts computer while i was waiting....found the PDA NAV installation kit which had all the wires, connectors and holders for the ipaq pda nav....then i asked him to see if it was actually available to buy so off he went and came back and said yes they are in germany but would take 5-7 days to come here did i want to go ahead....well i would have but it was very expensive indeed!!

the software was £212
the holder was £230
and the wiring loom etc was £345

a tad expensive since you have to own or buy the pda and a 128mb compact flash card aswell!!!

still i want someone else to buy it so i can see how good it is!!

go on...BUY IT!!

s'poss it so that the proper factory nav doesn't look vastly overpriced if you can get the ipaq stuff for a third of the price after your car is built and it does more...eg the phone with sms and mp3 movies etc!!

pointless i think...wish some one could get one copy of the bmw ipaq nav software and kindly make it available on kazaa he he!! i would buy the mounting if i got ipaq sat nav of my own eg tomtom etc! least it would look factory and with a blue tooth gps reciever there would only be the power connector plugged in!

for £200 ish quid i would buy the mount but that was all unless the software was spectacular and the same as the proper nav....hope someone does buy it or aquire it so we can really know!
