Question CD Info on Sat-Nav Screen

Hi all,

I've ordered sat-nav & single cd player with my MCS - Does anyone know if it's possible to display the current CD track info (song, artist etc) on the nav monitor in a 'windows media player' fashion (for want of a better description)? Might be a nice feature when not using the monitor to navigate. Just a thought.

Any ideas? Thanks

It'd be possible, but not even remotely cheap. You'd need lots of aftermarket stuff..

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Such as? ICE certainly isnt my 'thing' so I wouldnt know where to start. I guess you'd need some kind of module with a chip holding the software and an interface to link thew head unit and the monitor. I doubt i'd attempt it though....just thought it'd be a nice feature.

Someone else (mikeythemini) could probably do it better, but off the top of my head, you'd need something to interface with the nav system (to use it as a display) and probably a new headunit that would work with the display. At last check the interface to the display was $1000, but people were expecting a cheaper one to come along. I still don't think you'd be able to find a new head unit and the display interface and get it installed for less then $500. (sorry about all the prices in dollars, but if I give them in Pounds I'll screw it up, you can use the converter link at the bottom of the posts)
