Clarion or Panasonic

Firstly, many thanks to Mike at Newministuff. Great guy.

Now.

I've been given two options for an aftermarket unit (both within my budget)

Clarion DXZ838RMP -- http://www.clarion-eu.com/uk/Audio.a...1182d9f.4.html

Or

Panasonic CQDFX983 -- http://www.panasonic.co.uk/car-cd-tu...x983/index.htm

I'll be likely putting a sub in the boot at some point. Can external Amps be connected to these units?

Anyway. Opinions appreciated

purely based on looks I'd go for the clarion, silver looks like crap in the MINI IMO

The Clarion will go better with the mini dash illumination as you can vary the colour.
They both have 6 pre outs with SUBWOOFER out. Obviously you will need an amp for this.
For the speakers, the Clarion is slightly more powerful
They both have mfsw adaptpors available but the Panasonic is much cheaper and is plug and play
The Clarion is more expandable - DAB option
Now you are probly more confused
