Not me...... but you might be unlucky...... you could ask that nice Mr Whalen to send the invoice seperately.......... but that would not be very legal........

i really want to order , the exchange rate is really good at the minute but i dont know what they would class a gear knob as ?? if they charge me ££ duty it would make it very expensive for what it is!

I've got one that I might part with. It's a polished one with the standard 6 speed shift pattern on it, 6 months old, was in my car for only 4 months. Removed due to the car being put up for sale.

Pm me with an offer if your interested.

J.

Apparently you are liable to pay import duty on any product with a value over £18 that comes from outside the EU

I didn't get charged for mine though

what if someone in the states gets one and then gives it to you as a gift?
oh and then you happen to send a birthday card with the money in it?

i think that gifts are subject to similar duties

at the end of the day, you pay your money and take your chances....seems like the majority of people get away with it though

I did get charged duty - it ended up about £23. I mentioned it to Doug and he said it did happen but not very often. I am really happy with my shift machine, even though it cost me more than I was expecting.

Doug often does group buys.

Try and find one ...... or start one......

I got mine at a better price - then even if HMC knobble you it wont hurt so much

Also just had to pay £27 duty on my Rogue Intake .

Guess some people are just born unlucky!

I have been told that customs are being a lot harder on this lately and the chances of having to pay duty ar emore like 70% instead of what used to be 20% - I got stung on a PS2 game just last week (
