CD head unit 02 or 03???

Anyone know how to identify if a head unit is an 02 or 03? I am looking for one for use with an AUX input.

other then 02 not having the ability to connect the aux input while the 03 does ...

Let me clarify...

If I find a head unit somewhere (not in a car), how can I identify that it has the aux input capability? Does the back look any different? Different part no.? How will I know that I found an 03 head unit?

should be an extra place to plug the aux input cable in ... perhaps mikeythemini has pictures of what the back looks like

the softwear version needs to be v50. I think the softwear version is list on the white sticker on the head unit. Look for somthing like SW ??

here you can see photo example of the white sticker .


if you could connect power...

Turn on Stereo.
Press M button within 5 seconds and keep pressing.
When you can see SN on the display, press + button.
the display will show software version like "SV 32-03 50"
this example means 32nd week of year 2003 software version 50.
