Harman Kardon

Hi all,

I'm about to replace my Cooper with an S and I'm really interested in the Harman Kardon although have a few questions. Can you guys help?

Can the Harman Kardon be used with any other stereo?
Can you add a bluetooth car kit to the standard Mini Stereo?
Do MINI do a Bluetooth car kit for the mini yet?

Hi Tim,

I've got an S on order for delivery in April and have discovered that MINI don't produce a Bluetooth kit in the way that BMW do. However, the salesman spoke to a guy at MINI Head Office who said that the after market units were perfectly adequate - look at www.newministuff.co.uk

Not sure about the other queries... Try doing a search on Harmon Kardon - I think there's loads if info available!

Have you tried the aux in kit for the Cooper S Harman Kardon?

1. No. One or two people have done this, but it's a major electronics job. The HK amp is designed for the factory head unit only.

2. Pass.

3. No. They do phone prep as per BMW's as a factory option, but it's not available to the UK market.

Cool, what adaptor do you need?

My boost one with a hcb30 adaptor - you will have to chop the plug off the hcb30 speaker though. see the diy section on my site - got the hcb30 in my car.
Using it with a nokia 6600 my only comaplaint is the volume when someone rings me is to loud but the voice is fine

I dont about the UK but in the states MINI just came out with a BT kit.
