Clarion 748

I'm a bit torn on what HU to get.

Just had a look a Mikey's post of a few days back and the Clarion 748 looks good on paper, and the night picture looks good. But in the day pic, the HU didn't seem to match the cars interior. Does anyone have this HU installed? Any opinions?

If its bad, then i think i'll go for the Pioneer 77MP. Seems alright and cheap now.

I'd be grateful to hear of anyone who has either above HU, and what they think of it. if anyone has any pics, that would be great too.

Or is there an altogether better HU out there that i have missed?!

It looks much better in that picture. I take it u have seen it in the flesh? U think it looks good? I have the dark grey interior rather than silver.

In ur opinion, if it was ur choice, what would u go for between the clarion and pioneer 77?

I fitted the Clarion unit a few weeks ago and it looks very cool - well matched to the MINI interior.

Just thought i'd say thanks for all those who recommended the clarion DXZ748RMP. I have just installed it in the car today.(Not easy for someone non technical like me!)

I have to say it looks and sounds absolutely great! Its like it was born for this car!

Just one embarressing question i have though. I can't seem to work out how to plug the ariel adapter into the back of the clarion unit, hence i have no radio at the moment. Am i missing something? If anyone can help, i'd be very greatful.

Plus, what colour code on the clarion do u guys think best suits the mini?

I'll post some pictures tomorrow if anyone wants.

If I upgrade to this HU and install Dension Ice Link for Ipod, will I be able to see the Ipod ID3 tags on the Clarion ??

I have just bought the clarion 848 (music catcher included), not got the car yet, but seen some pictures. It is sooooo cool, can't wait to get my hands on the damn car. 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, should have it by then.

Mikey, If I fit this with Ice Link, will the ID tags appear on the Clarion ?

I've just installed a Nakamichi CD-400 in my car (thanks for the bits Mikey). Great sound and the basic looks suit the Mini IMO. More info. (and pics) can be found in my thread here

It's a 848 but I assumed the 748 would be the same as Car Audio Direct also say it's available in Silver/Black.
