How about an arm rest like this?

This is from a Smart Roadster I believe. Do you think something like this would work for the MINI? It looks like it replaces the emergency brake handle completely.
Perhaps someone in Europe or the UK could check it out in person and see if it looks like it could fit the MINI.

It looks kinda cool, but may not work in the Mini, might have issues about you arm resting low enough for it work.

Plus too that style of arm rest can damage the bracket and housing for your ebrake. It is really not designed to have weight on it all of the time. I would worry that in time the handle would get loose and need to be tightened frequently. I had a similar style arm rest on a BMW 2002 and it broke the hinge pin that held the brake shaft. Granted that was 10+ years back, but I don't see how they could have made many improvements to the design to adjust for the weight.

Thats a good point, I don't think anyone here is in the right mind to go a get any part of their MINI damaged.
