Front Cup Holder used as Camera Mount

I posted on My Rear Cup Holder Camera Mount a couple of weeks ago
See >> http://www.mini2.com/forum/first-generation-interior-ice/56458-rear-cup-holder-used-camera-mount.html <<
Today I experimented with trying to do a similar thing with the Front Cup Holder
I still used, as my material of Choice, The standard 68mm OD Drainpipe section which is easily deformed / bent with a little heat from a Heatgun, (although a Hairdryer will yield similar results). The pipe section has to stepped in order to clear the central switch cluster & Gearchange. It was then a simple matter of slipping the Camera mount I had previously made for the Rear Device onto this new, (albeit identical), section.
To reduce lateral movement I made up a Velcro strap which simply threads through the end switch guard & wraps around the pipe.
This method of monting now gives easier control of the Camera Functions & allows an unobscured view of the Road ... Ideal for any forthcoming Adventures .
I`ll post a Vid in the next few days

Ha, I take it Everyone must be totally stunned by my Plastic PipeWork judging from the Response to this Post
Took it for a few test drives today & also found that the "Steady Bar" I had made for the Rear Cam mount [Coincidentally] also fitted between the new mount & the Front Belt Fixing
As well as trying it out on Fast Country Lanes, I also tried it on a Cobbled Street as can be seen here which really give it a ShakeDown

Again, neat invention. The video looks very smooth.
I found another option. IMO this is basically all you need for a camera mount.

There is enough space to clamp it to the front of the dash, (above the speedo) as well.

Cheers,
