I've seen these two new storage places for 2005:
- One under the handbrake: (this one is great!)

And the second one is under the front console (as you can see on www.miniusa.com). The one that MINI made is a lot smaller than those sold "after-market". I have the Moss MINI one and there's much more room than the one made for 2005!

Which one are you talking about?

2012 Countryman S All4 - Light White, Sunroof, Premium & Cold packages, Xenons, Adaptive lights, and lots of fun!!

Oh that's what I like to see, a bit of hard plastic under the handbrake to rap your
knuckles on unless you have teeny weeny hands

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

!

But I think it's much more usefull than a piece of carpet (as on 02-04 models). I would put my spare change in it...

I've seen it, and been in a car with it, fairly hopeless if you go around corners (its hard plastic, and quite shallow).

The other one (under the toggle panel) should be easy to retro fit as it basically replaces the current blanking plate, and there are also aftermarket solutions that offer the same anyway.

I am not positive but I think that it is optional for people who want tach. and speedo
at steering wheel but without the navigation system (which goes in the center position).

I personally wouldl iek the Speedo by the Tach, but I'm not too sure about the look of the new Chro Pack, I'm reserving my thoughts until I see em in the flesh at teh NEC Motorshow next month
