Problem with mute lead I have just picked up a MCS and decided to upgrade the HU and fit a car phone. I have installed a SE HCB 30 bluetooth kit as per the DIY guides along with a Connects2 mute lead so that the audio is passed throught the speakers. All seemed to be going well, making calls the HU shows "MUTE" and audio goes through speakers. Incoming calls aren't as successful, the stereo mutes as the phone rings, ie mutes on, mutes off, mute on, mutes off.....get the idea! When the call is answered the audio fails to work and go through the speakers. I have seen a similar thread on here with exactly the same problem but there was no solution listed, somebody must have an idea. I've connected the mute wire ( pink wire) to the rear of the stereo(yellow wire), could this be the problem? The head unit is a pioneer p77mp if that helps. All of the wiring is adapter leads so there has been no splicing of wires, ie BMW - ISO- Mute lead - HU Mark

Mark; welcome to MINI2.com the best New MINI place on the Web All I can say is that the Nokia bluetooth kit that I got from Mikeythemini that I installed per his instructions works flawlessly in all modes with my HK Boost CD system and I even have XM satilite radio and an iPod hooked up so simple my system is not. I have the microphone at the grill next to the Sunroof button (swapped in position for LHD btw a detail that MINI missed in the build) and gould not be happyer... Why not contact Mike? If I was in the UK I know that no one but Mike would be doing any ICE work for me. Shoot him a PM or go to his web site at http://www.newministuff.com/ you will not be disapointed in his service ~R~ S BRG/W Randolph 3 PAC NAV Mid Coast Maine, U.S.A. ![]()

The mute wire from the 4 pin lead connects to the Connects2 mute interface, this then comes out as a pink wire with a male and female connecter, it is labelled tel mute. I connected this to the pioneer HU Mute wire. I will try the kit without the mute wire connected, when I tested it for outgoing calls it was fine. I only connected the mute wire as I was getting adventurous and hadn't blown any fuses, it was quite nice to have the stereo say Mute but not essential. I will disconnect the mute and see how the interface alone goes.
