| Personally I don't think the screen on the ipod is that clear so you have a good point. The Icelink cradle has a adjustable angle, as do the brodit ipod holders. I think the higher its mounted the better - but it can look silly on top of the dash. There is a thread on here where someone has mounted it in the clock - really clever but a lot of work To the side of the stereo seems to be the most popular |

| dinger, The Belkin TuneDok is pretty good - I've recently fitted on to my Cooper along with the aux cable, and it works a treat. A couple of things though... 1) The pics on here are generally for left hand drive models, and show the TuneDok in the left hand cup holder. However, I found that the best position for a RHD version is to use the right hand cup holder - using the left one means the iPod is in an odd position. Using the right hand position, it can be reached easily, even by passengers, although you may have to move your knee to see the display. 2) The TuneDok isn't really suitable for use by the driver whilst moving, as it's low down in the cabin. It's OK for a quick glance at the display to see what's playing, but anything else could be a bit iffy. The iPod display is OK when in a TuneDok, but it might benefit from having the backlight on. I hope this helps. Dave. Last edited by daveabrey; Jun 5th, 2004 at 09:10 PM. |

I have the iPod mounted on a Panavise Mount and hooked up with the Belkin auto adapter and AUX port which places it up even with the head unit and it's completely legible. Just set the backlight to go on for a short time and you're good to go day or night. The cupholder mount placed it too low rendering it impossible to use, IMO, when driving. |
