Fitted Ice Link for IPod to my factory fitted wave unit with 6 cd changer, and all working ok.
Took my magazine out of the changer yesterday (as the changer no longer works). Did'nt put it back today, went to change input sources via the steering control and got a 'no magazine' display on the wave radio and the heard nowt from the IPod.
Do I have to have the magazine in the cd changer for the IPod to work / have I not disconnected the changer? Do I need to?
1. Check the current software on your iPod - it should be @ version 2.2, this can be found by going into the SETTINGS/ABOUT menu in your iPod.
2. With the key on and iPod removed, disconnect the 3-pin and 6-pin interfaces that connect to the vehicle specific adapter. Wait 2-3 minutes.
3. While the ice>Link is powering down, reset your iPod while pressing and holding the MENU and PLAY/PAUSE buttons
4. Connect the ice>Link to the adapter - DO NOT install the iPod in the cradle yet!
5. Using the MODE button on the radio - try to select CD changer mode - you should see a NO DISK message on the dot matrix display
6. insert the iPod - everything should work!
Sometimes the MINI's i-bus is a little tempermental, but these procedures should work.
